WAAM with confidence

Level-up your WAAM with multimodal sensor fusion

The problem

Defects in Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) are usually detected only after the build is complete, resulting in wasted time, material, and labour.

To catch defects during the build, an operator needs to monitor the build continuously.

And when the operator sees an anomaly, they often need to make a subjective judgement call on whether to continue, correct, or abandon the build.

What if we could catch defects accurately and objectively during the build?

Multimodal Sensor Fusion

We are offering a modular and platform-agnostic multimodal sensor fusion kit that can be installed on any WAAM platform.

Multimodal sensor fusion combines data from multiple sensors to accurately detect defects during the build.

Analysis based on advanced algorithms identify whether a defect has occured. This allows the operator to take corrective actions as early as possible instead of after the build, resulting in:

  • Reduced material wastage due to failed builds

  • Improved lead times

  • Optimized machine availability.

FAQ

How does the trial work?

1

We will provide a sensor kit for loan, and a complimentary software trial for a period of 6 months.

After the trial, you can decide if you want to purchase or return the sensor kit, and purchase an annual software subscription.

When will the trial commence?

The trial will start rolling out in Q1 of 2027.

2

Will any modifications be required to my WAAM setup?

3

Installation of sensors is easy and completely reversible.
